Steven von Stein

Lead Pastor

steven@vistachurch.com

Steven brings over 20 years of pastoral ministry experience and serves as Lead Pastor with a deep desire to help people encounter Jesus and experience real life change through the gospel. His heart is to lead a church shaped by grace and truth, grounded in prayer, and centered on the presence of God, where people are known, loved, and formed into mature followers of Christ who live on mission.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in ministry and a master’s degree in theological and church studies. Steven brings together pastoral leadership, discipleship, and thoughtful organizational direction to help the church move forward with spiritual health, unity, and purpose.

Steven is deeply committed to cultivating a culture of prayer, developing leaders, building healthy teams, and creating clarity and structure that allow the church to focus on what matters most: making disciples and reaching the community with the hope of Jesus. Outside of ministry, he enjoys fishing, hiking, gardening, and spending time with his wife, Allison, and their three boys.

Dennis Sta. Ana

Care Pastor

dennis@vistachurch.com

Within just a few minutes of talking to Pastor Dennis, you’ll learn one of the most important things about him: he’s an authentic guy. Whether he’s talking about one of his great loves—food—or connecting new people who walk in the door of Vista Church for the first time, Dennis doesn’t put on a façade. As a pastor for 28 years, Dennis’s rich history in ministry has shown that he loves helping people move forward in their faith journey. Currently at Vista that means helping them figure out what their next step is. He and his wife, Dana, and their two kids, Emily Ann and Kayden, love to travel internationally. He sees these times as great learning experiences for his kids as they encounter different cultures. Born in the Philippines himself, Dennis loves leading mission trips back to his home country. Dennis’ vision for Vista is that people would know that it’s a safe place for wherever they are on their path of faith. He wants people to know that Vista is a community of imperfect people serving a perfect God reaching out to a hurting world.

Rachel Lindvig

Kids Ministry

rachel@vistachurch.com

Rachel Lindvig pours her whole heart into helping kids, parents, and volunteers feel connected and equipped to grow, and as Vista's Kids Ministry Director, she gets to do that every day! As a mom herself, she knows the joy and the happy chaos of raising a family firsthand, and she loves coming alongside the families of Vista Kids because of it.

Rachel grew up in the church and has been part of kids ministry in one way or another for much of her life, including the past several years serving in Vista Kids. She spent many years as a CPA before stepping back to raise her three daughters, and that experience gave her a natural gift for organizing and leading well. When God began stretching her beyond her comfort zone, she kept saying yes to opportunities she never imagined she was capable of, and those yeses led her right here! What she loves most is helping people flourish where God has placed them, from a child discovering God's love to a parent realizing they are not doing this alone.

She and her husband, Michael, have three daughters who keep life full of energy! Away from Vista, she loves singing with her family, baking sourdough, and painting! Rachel's prayer is that Vista Kids continues to be a genuine community for families, a place where children build a faith that lasts well beyond Sunday morning and where parents find encouragement from others walking the same road.

Matthew Cowles

Youth & Young Adults

matthew@vistachurch.com

Matthew has had a passion for preaching and teaching God’s Word from a young age, and ministry has always been central to his life. He especially loves helping students and young adults understand Scripture in a way that feels real, engaging, and applicable to their everyday lives—while still being a lot of fun. Outside of ministry, Matthew enjoys golfing, playing volleyball, going to the beach, watching football, and spending time with friends and family. And yes, he is 6’5”, no, he doesn’t play basketball, and yes, the weather up here is really great. He is incredibly excited to be serving at Vista Community Church and to see what God does in and through students and young adults.

Eric Babbington

Worship Worship Ministries Tech

ericb@vistachurch.com

With more than 20 years of experience in church audio, video, and lighting, Eric is passionate about using these technologies to help communicate God’s Word and create spaces where people can encounter Him. He works diligently to develop individuals and the team, equipping them to serve Vista through the worship arts.

At the heart of his philosophy is the belief that worship is nothing more or less than “setting your mind’s attention and your heart’s affection” on God.

Eric and his wife, Vicki, have been married for 24 years and have three wonderful children. He is also a collector of hobbies, so ask him about his current flavor of the week, disc golf, or whatever new interest has caught his attention. He has tried just about all of them!

If you have an interest in serving through technology, please reach out to Eric. Whether you have experience or are simply willing to learn, there is a place for you on the team.

Liv Keane

Office Administrative Assistant

liv@vistachurch.com

Liv grew up deeply rooted in the church and gave her life to following and serving Jesus from a young age. As a Trace Academy graduate, she has always felt at home at Vista, a church that has played a significant role in her faith journey and spiritual growth. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, specializing in Event Management, and trusts God to lead her wherever He calls.

Liv has a deep passion for ministry, discipleship, and investing in the next generation. Her heart is to disciple and equip young servant leaders, helping young men and women discover the fullness, freedom, and joy found in a life completely surrendered to Jesus. She hopes to use her gifts to strengthen Vista’s community and help create spaces where young people can grow in their faith, discover their purpose, and learn to lead others well.

Outside of ministry and school, Liv enjoys swimming, surfing, needlepoint, spending time with family and friends, and playing with her three-year-old rescue puppy, Finn.

Our worship team is led by a passionate group of leaders who desire to create an atmosphere where people can encounter God through music and authentic worship. Michael Lindvig, Rachel Lindvig, Isaac von Stein, and Jacklynn Combs each bring unique gifts, leadership, and heart to the team. Together, they work to lead our church in worship that is Christ-centered, engaging, and welcoming for everyone. Their goal is not just to sing songs, but to help our church family connect with God, grow in faith, and worship Him wholeheartedly each week.
